About this course
This course equips Nevada Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) with essential knowledge and practical skills to deliver person-centered support, uphold individual rights, manage medications safely, document services accurately, and maintain compliance with state and federal requirements. Learners will explore best practices for rights education, medication management, documentation, incident reporting, and more, with real-world scenarios and up-to-date references.

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain person-centered support principles and the importance of rights education
- Identify, justify, and document rights restrictions according to Nevada regulations
- Distinguish between levels of medication support and apply correct procedures
- Demonstrate the workflow for supporting medication self-administration
- Manage appointments and medication refills to ensure continuity of care
- Implement and document person-centered plans (PCPs) in daily practice
- Write accurate, defensible progress notes and maintain billing integrity
