About this course
This course equips healthcare workers, public safety professionals, and employees at risk of occupational exposure with the knowledge and practical skills to identify bloodborne pathogens, understand their transmission and risks, implement effective prevention strategies, and respond appropriately to exposures in compliance with OSHA standards.

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Describe OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogen Standard and workplace responsibilities
- Identify major bloodborne pathogens and their health impacts
- Explain how bloodborne pathogens are transmitted and which fluids are of concern
- Distinguish between regulated and unregulated waste and proper disposal methods
- Apply universal precautions and select appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Demonstrate correct hand hygiene and safe sharps handling
- Recognize symptoms and outcomes of key bloodborne infections
