Alaska — SDS DSP Training
Tracks direct-service-worker training required of Alaska HCBS waiver providers under 7 AAC 130.220 and Condition of Participation COP-06: documented orientation and service-necessary training defined by the provider (optionally framed on the Alaska Core Competencies), plus the biennial CPR/First Aid, SDS critical-incident-reporting, and medication-training obligations. Requirements follow the state's own regulations and certification conditions — Alaska prescribes the obligations while leaving curriculum choice to the provider, which this pathway maps to TeTS courses.

Pathway curriculum
Each module shows the training or evidence that satisfies a requirement, when it is first due, and how often it must be renewed.
Documented orientation covering the direct-service-worker role, provider policies, and the needs of the individuals served, per the provider-defined skill set required by 7 AAC 130.220 and COP-06.
Mapped training
Training on recipient rights, dignity of risk, and supporting choice — service-necessary content within the provider-defined DSW skill set (Alaska Core Competencies: supporting rights and self-determination).
Training to recognize, prevent, and respond to abuse, neglect, and exploitation of service recipients — service-necessary content that underpins the critical-incident-reporting obligation.
Training on health and safety practices for community-based services — infection control/universal precautions, environmental safety, and emergency procedures — within the provider-defined skill set.
Person-centered support practices per the Alaska Core Competencies — an optional but state-recognized framing for the provider-defined DSW skill set ("may use" per 7 AAC 130.220).
Current CPR and First Aid certification, renewed every two years, from an organization approved by SDS. In-person skills component — tracked as external evidence.
SDS's critical-incident-reporting training, repeated every two years; administrators take the SDS course directly and train-the-trainer delivery is allowed for staff. State-owned course — tracked as external evidence.
Staff who assist with self-administration of medication must be trained under the provider's medication policy submitted to and approved by SDS, covering the 7 AAC 130.227(j)(2) topics, using the provider's own or the Alaska Training Cooperative curriculum.
