Massachusetts — DDS DSP Training
Tracks the training expectations for direct support staff in Massachusetts DDS-licensed and funded programs under 115 CMR, verified through DDS licensure surveys rather than a fixed hour count. Follows the state's own regulation — human rights (115 CMR 3.09), dignity and abuse/neglect awareness, documentation, and health and safety — and tracks the state-controlled MAP medication certification, DDS-approved restraint curricula (115 CMR 5.11), and DDS Learning mandated-reporter modules as external evidence.
One organized view of what each learner has completed, what is still due, and what needs to be renewed.
Pathway curriculum
Each module shows the training or evidence that satisfies a requirement, when it is first due, and how often it must be renewed.
Training on the human rights of individuals receiving DDS supports, including the rights enumerated in 115 CMR 3.00 and the provider's human rights procedures. Verified through DDS licensure surveys.
Mapped training
Awareness training on dignity and respect and on recognizing and responding to abuse, neglect, and mistreatment of adults with disabilities. Complements — but does not replace — the DDS Learning mandated-reporter orientation tracked separately.
Training on service documentation and incident reporting practices reviewed in DDS licensure and certification surveys.
Health and safety training appropriate to the setting — infection control/universal precautions, fire and emergency safety — verified through DDS licensure surveys.
Mandated-reporter orientation under M.G.L. c.19C (DPPC) is delivered through the state's DDS Learning modules; track completion evidence here.
Medication administration requires certification through the Medication Administration Program (MAP): a course of at least 16 hours plus the three-part test administered by contractor D&S Diversified (Headmaster), with recertification every 2 years. Track certification evidence here.
Physical restraint may only be taught through DDS-approved Crisis Prevention, Response and Restraint (CPRR) curricula — e.g., Safety-Care, CPI, SOLVE, PABC. Track the agency's approved-curriculum certification evidence here.
