About this course
This course introduces learners to the fundamentals of Adaptive Equipment, focusing on how assistive devices and technologies enhance independence, accessibility, and quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Participants will explore common types of adaptive and durable medical equipment (DME), understand their uses, and learn how to properly support individuals in using them safely and effectively. The course also covers the direct support professional’s (DSP) role in maintenance, observation, and reporting procedures to ensure equipment reliability and client safety.
