Ohio — DODD DSP Training
Tracks Ohio DODD requirements for direct support professionals under OAC 5123-2-08 (agency providers): pre-service orientation and core topics, within-30-day topics, and the 8-hour annual requirement (2 hours of DODD-provided curriculum plus 6 agency-arranged hours from the rule's topic menus). Follows the state's own regulation — DODD-curriculum components, MUI modules, and medication administration certification (OAC 5123-6) are tracked as external evidence, not mapped courses.

Pathway curriculum
Each module shows the training or evidence that satisfies a requirement, when it is first due, and how often it must be renewed.
Pre-service orientation covering the role and responsibilities of the direct support professional, the NADSP code of ethics, and providing care with empathy. Delivered before working alone with individuals; content follows the DODD-provided curriculum, which any entity may deliver.
Mapped training
Pre-service training on the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities enumerated in ORC 5123.62, including how staff support and protect those rights in daily practice.
Pre-service training on universal precautions for infection control, plus awareness of current DODD health and welfare alerts affecting the people served.
Within thirty days of starting, staff must be trained on person-centered planning and implementing each individual's service plan (ISP), including their role in carrying out ISP outcomes.
Six of the eight required annual training hours are agency-arranged from the topic menus in OAC 5123-2-08 (e.g., health and safety, rights, positive behavior support, communication, community integration). Course selection is the provider's choice; hours are documented per staff person.
Two of the eight annual hours must use the DODD-provided curriculum (OAC 5123-2-08 Appendix C). Record completion evidence from the DODD/MyLearning delivery or an entity delivering the department curriculum.
Pre-service and within-30-day training on major unusual incidents and unusual incidents under OAC 5123-17-02 uses DODD's MUI-specific state modules. Track the department-module completion certificate as external evidence; annual MUI review rides in the DODD-curriculum component.
DODD medication administration certification (Category 1 initial >=14 hours, Categories 2-3 for advanced tasks) must be delivered by DODD-certified RN trainers under OAC Chapter 5123-6, with annual recertification. Not course-mappable — track the DODD certification record.
